Axiom says this about the Hex: "Mesmerizingly straight, the Hex is the newest midrange from Axiom Discs. With flight numbers of 5/5/-1/1, the Hex will find a place in anyone’s bag as a versatile and reliably straight midrange. At the highest arm speeds, the Hex will produce slightly understable lines from flat, but the 1 fade keeps it from flipping over completely. For lower arm speeds, the Hex has enough turn to make shaping lines a breeze. If you are looking for control in the woods, or simply a versatile line shaper, the Hex is the midrange for you."
Flight Metrics
Speed
The velocity required to reach a disc's optimal flight path. Range: 1 to 15.
Glide
The measure of lift generated by a disc to stay aloft. Range: 1 to 7.
Turn
The velocity, relative to the speed of the disc, required to cause the disc to turn with the direction of spin. Range: +1 to -5.
Fade
The low-velocity stability that causes a disc to hook at the end of its flight. Range: 0 to 5.
Fantastic disc that has become my go to midrange / fairway driver with confident control and excellent glide. Holds whatever line it is put on with the fission plastic having slightly less fade than the neutron plastic.
You simply cannot go wrong with this disc. Perfect for beginners and intermediate players alike. Beginners will love its torque resistance and consistency. Intermediate players will love its ability to hold shot shapes as well as it's ability to hold a straight like when paired with a flat release. If you're a buzzz fanatic like I was, I challenge you to give this a try to see if this amazing disc can "dethrone the King" so-to-speak. The way the disc and the neutron plastic feels in my hand alone was enough for it to begin to beat most if not all of the buzzzs I had previously tried. Then, I threw it a few times (both forehand and backhand) and I'll never be able to live without it. I actually bought a bulk order of them for a bachelor party full of advanced, intermediate, and beginner players and ALL of them said they were going to use it as their go-to mid-range by the end of the round. Do yourself a favor and give it chance!
Lost my old fission hex and immediately placed the reorder. Disc arrived quickly and I played a couple rounds with it. Loved the new one but was still missing the one I lost. About a week later I got a text that the original was found. So I'm back to my old beat up one in my bag but I have a sweet replacement on deck when needed.
A buzzz copy in different plastic with a flat top. A disc that can fit in anyone's bag. This one in the neutron plastic is more stable than the numbers indicate. Flys like a buzzz.
Flies like a Buzzz - just farther. It goes dead straight with a gentle fade when thrown flat. On hyzer, it won't flip up until it beats in unless you have a big arm. It will hold an Anny and Fly right, but it has enough stability that you don't need to give it a lot of air to keep it from cut-rolling.
What can I say that hasn't been said about the Hex already? Not much other than it's now better than ever in Proton plastic!! Grab your favorite mid in his phenomenal plastic today!
